TRANSITION TO COMMUNITY IMPACT
In 2010, Heart of Kentucky United Way developed a strategic plan that transitions from Agency funding to program funding. To insure those dollars are transforming our communities for the betterment of all, Heart of Kentucky United Way planned a series of Community Conversations to bring together people, businesses, and nonprofits to create real change in education, income, and health. This resulted in more than 55 community conversations occurring from September 2011 through October 2012.
The community conversations were hosted by Heart of Kentucky United Way, in collaboration with local Chambers of Commerce, Centre College, community partners and diversity-focused groups in the community. Many of these conversations were with everyday people from diverse backgrounds, including one conversation in Spanish. More than five conversations included community business and education leaders.
